On two occasions, I've spilled liquid (water the first time, baby oil the second) on my iPhone, and it got into the speakers. Even though I quickly wiped my phone after the spill, the sound was still affected - it sounded tinny & much lower than normal. I was worried my phone was dunzo, but a quick blast of compressed air directly into the speakers completely solved the problem! It's actually kind of cool to see the water go flying out of the speakers, and the sound instantly returned to normal. When I spilled water, I used the compressed air immediately after wiping down the phone. When I spilled baby oil on it, I didn't use the air until a few days later - still worked!
