Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Pekela “PK” Riley on a project we were both working on. Pekela is the owner of Salon^PK in Jacksonville, FL and has an impressive body of work under her belt. She has styled celebrities (Gabrielle Union, Chrisette Michele, Evelyn Lozada), worked as key stylist for high-profile events (Black Girls Rock!, NYC Fashion Week, Dove Awards) and a number of published advertising campaigns (Creme of Nature Argan Oil, Creme of Nature Haircolor) AND a served as beauty editorial contributor for Ebony magazine! I was apprehensive about some aspects of the project we worked on, but PK was amazing – she patiently explained everything to me in a calm, no-nonsense manner that immediately put me at ease. Her vast knowledge on all things hair-related is impressive, and I was (of course) eager to pick her brain! There was no way I could get answers to all my questions in the short amount of time we had together, so we partnered together to bring you a new segment on my blog: #ASKPK! Her professional knowledge paired with my platform will give you (and me!) the opportunity to have your questions answered by someone who knows what they’re talking about!
Here’s how it works:
If you have a question about hair, tweet it or post it on instagram (or both!) with the hashtag #AskPK and the photo below. You can also tag us in the post (Me: @LaurenMechelle | PK: @HairFashionPro, for both twitter & instagram), but the hashtag is more important (IG only lets you see your most recent tags). Questions that are posted without the image or #AskPK won’t be considered, so make sure you use them! If you have an image you want to share with us that relates to your question, you can use Instagram’s new messaging system to send them to me.

PK & I will go through your questions & answer them here on my blog (I’ll make sure to tag the asker when I post). I have my own questions that I had for PK, and will be sharing those with you as well. We’re both very excited about this concept, and can’t wait to hear from you!
