Both women pulled their current beauty favorites from the shelves & talked about what they're loving now + what can be carried into the next season.
Classic fall trends like berry lips were discussed - B was wearing Urban Decay's "Mrs. Mia Wallace" from the Pulp Fiction Collection, and Tonya can't live without Too Faced's "Berry" from the Melted collection. I'm still getting used to wearing color on my lips, but Tonya demonstrated how you can apply a small amount of the Melted lipsticks for more of a stain effect, or layer it on for a shiny, lacquered look. I was surprised to learn of some trends I wouldn't expect for fall - like neutral eyes with a pop of color + glitter! Tonya prefers her "pop" to be a bright liner (like Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner), but B. cautioned against going too crazy with glitter liner & would rather wear color on her fingers - Butter London polishes are her go-to!
After discussing trends, B & Tonya opened the floor for questions - I asked how to avoid going crazy when trying to do a smoky eye, it's so hard for me to not smoke it out too much! B gave the invaluable advice to first apply a transition color just above your crease, then apply other colors below it & be sure not to go above the transition color. That made a TON of sense (duh), I'll have to try that! After Q&A we munched on cupcakes from Sweet Box Cupcakes (sinfully delicious!!), and got literally the best gift bags ever... So many goodies inside! I'm already obsessed with the Butter London file (from the Colour Hardware Nail Art Tool Kit), Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara, & the Urban Decay Ammo Palette!
