Pre-orders for the iPhone 6 start tonight at 3am EST, and my alarm is set! I absolutely can’t wait to upgrade, but deciding which phone to choose is a little harder. I already know I want the silver color, and definitely going with the 64GB version – I’ve always had 16GB & it’s just not enough… I take so many pictures and have SO MUCH MUSIC that I always end up deleting my music library to make room for something else. But what about size of the actual phone? I don’t want a huge phone. I’ve actually made fun of people that have mini tablets for phones *cough* Samsung Galaxy Note *cough*… what kind of hypocrite would I be if I show up with a ginormous iPhone 6+ in hand? And really, how ginormous is the 6+ ? Unfortunately, I have no way to actually play with the new iPhone & see how it fits in my hand, but came across the next best thing – a PDF with the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, & iPhone 6+ all drawn to scale, created by Jeremy Anticouni. Directions are easy – download, print at 100% (I printed on heavy cardstock), and cut out.
My first reaction – the iPhone 6+ IS HUGE! I held it up to my co-workers Samsung Galaxy S3 and it’s bigger!! I’d feel like such a douche with this enormous thing up to my ear… but on the upside, I’d have a much easier time finding it in my purse! There aren’t many differences between the 6 & 6+, but I’m going back and forth over how much I actually care about the upgrades in the 6+:
- Image stabilisation
- Landscape view similar to the iPad
- Little photos next to your contacts’ names in the Messages app!!
- Better battery life
In hand, the 6+ DEFINITELY feels too big… It’s huge! But is it something I’d get used to? Do I think it’s huge now because I’m used to a smaller phone? I think I COULD get used to it, but what if I just hate it?
I’m torn… but need to make a decision before pre-orders start! Are you upgrading? Pre-ordering? Which model are you getting?
I completely forgot about the most important test for deciding which iPhone to buy – the butt pocket test! The 6 plus completely fails… Way too much sticks out!
